During a check to make sure that the improvements required had been made
At the previous inspection in October 2011 we spoke to the people living there.
People told us that enjoyed using the service, they found that it met their needs and fulfilled their expectations.
One of the people living in the home said, "I enjoy living here, it is homely and comfortable, these are important especially when one feels low".
Another person using the service said, "Management and staff make me feel valued and give me a purpose, they are helpful but also encourage me to be more independent".
We heard from external health professionals of the positive outcomes experienced by people using the service. The manager and staff work closely with fellow health professionals in the community in ensuring a joined up service that benefits people and promotes continuity and consistency. Staff at the home follow good practice guidance and respond to recommendations made by health professionals.
We had written confirmation from the registered manager, and from the nominated individual that the medication storage cabinet was replaced, and that the new medication cabinet used at Pinfold Home was meeting the required standard required in care homes to store medication safely.
