Updated 14 June 2024
We had previously undertaken a comprehensive inspection under our previous methodology of Smile Rooms Milton Keynes on 8 February 2024 under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions. We found the registered provider was not providing safe and well-led care and was in breach of regulation 12 and 17 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. We undertook a follow up focused assessment on 20 August 2024. This assessment was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to confirm that the practice was now meeting legal requirements. We found the practice had met regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. The practice is in Milton Keynes and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 8 dentists, 2 qualified dental nurses, 2 trainee dental nurses, 2 dental hygienist, 1 treatment coordinator, 1 practice manager and 4 receptionists. The practice is supported by a compliance consultant. The practice had 4 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with the practice manager.
