During a routine inspection
Patients and relatives expressed immense satisfaction with the care and support they received at St. Joseph's Hospice. One patient told us, 'My illness was causing me and my sons great distress and unhappiness, my life changed when I came to St Joseph's.'
We found that patients experienced care, treatment and support to meet their needs, with additional arrangements put in place to meet diverse cultural needs. A relative shared their experiences saying, 'My mother is a very religious person and has specific cultural needs, we discussed this with staff before her admission and plans are in place to meet her needs.'
There were high standards of cleanliness and hygiene maintained throughout the service, and sufficient staff on duty to meet patients' needs.
