Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity

The Registered Person must review the risk assessments and care plans for service users identified as at risk of choking together with staff knowledge and competencies on a minimum of a monthly basis. These must also be reviewed when any individual service user’s needs change regarding their choking risk and/or if their support needs change in relation to safe consumption of food and drink to ensure the most accurate, up-to-date information is available to staff.

The Registered Person must send a report to the Commission on the first Monday of every month:
a. Giving a summary of any actions arising from their review of the service user risk assessments and care plans.
b. Identifying who is responsible for taking the actions and by which date.
c. A record of the rota (for the previous month) of the supervising member of staff who has been on duty
during mealtimes.
d. Any changes to staff members, any new staff members, providing their competencies and training.
e. A list of any agency staff used and confirmation of completed induction checklist.
f. Provide details of any new service users admitted and identified as at risk of choking.

Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity

The Registered Provider must only accommodate a maximum of 20 service users at Essex Care Consortium - Colchester.

The Registered Provider must not provide nursing care under accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care at Essex Care Consortium - Colchester.
