Our view of the service
We carried out this on-site announced assessment on 11 September 2024. We found the practice had met regulations all regulations. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place. The practice had systems to manage risks. Dental Surgery - Stonegate is in York and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. Due to the practice being located on the first floor, patients with mobility requirements are referred to a local practice that can help with access more easily. The practice had 2 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with the principal dentist, 1 dental nurse and the receptionist.
People's experience of this service
During our assessment, we received feedback from 9 patients. All patients we received feedback from told us staff were polite, friendly and caring. They also commented they were fully involved in decisions about treatment and were happy with the quality of treatment carried out. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken. Staff gathered feedback from patients, the public and external partners and demonstrated a commitment to acting on feedback. Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
