Well-led
People, relatives, and staff told us the home was well-led. The registered manager was respected and had created an open, honest, and inclusive environment within the home. Systems and processes were clear and detailed to ensure the home operated safely. Governance systems within the home were robust with the registered manager and staff team having clear oversight of the service. Staff felt confident to speak up about concerns and there were various options for them to do so within and outside of the home.

Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders
People, relatives and staff spoke positively about the registered manager and staff team. A member of staff told us, “[Name of registered manager] is always open and very approachable. If I go in with any queries and need support, [registered manager] always supports me and takes action.” Another member of staff told us, “Communication is excellent, we all communicate really well and support each other, it’s great. We have a really good team.” The registered manager spoke of how they created a culture of inclusivity and ensured people received person-centred care. The registered manager said, “We deliver all care personalised to people to ensure their happiness and well being and to keep everyone safe. I have an open-door policy so staff can come to me day or night. I can’t ask any more of the staff than to know people so well and ensure they are getting all their needs met, emotional and psychological, at all times.”
There was an open and supportive culture which came from the management of the home. Staff felt supported, attended regular meetings, and were kept fully updated with all aspects within the home. Communication systems were robust and policies and procedures ensured inclusivity was a core value throughout the home.
