Our view of the service
Our overall rating of this service is inadequate.
The New Life Centre is a residential service that offers medically assisted detoxification for
adults aged 18 and upwards, who are dependent on alcohol, opiates, stimulants, sedatives
and/or other prescribed or non-prescribed drugs. The service accepts statutory referrals
and privately funded people. They can offer a service to six people at any one time. At the
time of the inspection there were five people admitted to the service. The service was first
registered with the CQC in November 2021 to provide four regulated activities:
Accommodation for persons who require treatment for substance misuse, diagnostic and
screening procedures, surgical procedures and treatment of disease, disorder or injury,
although surgical procedures were not being undertaken at the time of our visit. There was
a registered manager in post at the time we inspected the service. We have previously
inspected this service in December 2022 when we rated the service as 'Good' overall, with
'Good' in all domains apart from Safe, which we rated as 'Required Improvement'.
