People told us that they were very happy living at Edgecumbe Lodge. They said that staff were kind and respectful and that services provided were very good. People told us that they were given the choice to participate in activities or decline. People said that they were well looked after. They said the staff and would ask their permission before making any decision for them.One person told us that they received all the information that they needed and visited two other homes before they came to view this home. This helped them to decide if they wanted to come and live here. The person said that they chose this home because everyone seemed very happy. People told us that they were aware of their care plan and that they signed it. They told us that they could wake up and retire when they wanted. People told us that they were registered with a General Practitioner (GP) and that the doctor came to see them when they felt unwell. They said that they had a choice on whether to receive care and or treatment or not. People told us that staff were very good and that they respected their dignity and privacy.

They said that there was a variety of meals to choose from everyday. They said that there were alternatives if they didn't like what was on the menu. One person said "If there is anything I don't like they give something else. For example I don't eat cucumber, it upsets my stomach and they don't expect me to eat it.
