Date of Assessment: 3 January – 21 January 2025. The service is a care at home, supported living service providing support to adults of all ages living with a range of different needs. This was the first inspection of the service and we looked at all of the quality statements in all of the key questions. At the time of our inspection there were 5 people using the service.
The service had a strong proactive and positive culture of safety, based on openness and complete honesty. People could raise concerns about safety. Managers made sure staff received training and regular appraisals to maintain high-quality care. Staff managed medicines well and involved people in planning any changes.
People were actively involved in assessments of their needs. They were supported to achieve their personal dreams and goals. Care was based on latest evidence and good practice.
The provider treated people with exceptional kindness and compassion. People had choice in all aspects of their care and support. They were encouraged to maintain relationships with family and friends.
People were involved in decisions about their care. The service provided information in formats people could understand.
Leaders and staff were exceptional. There was a shared vision and culture based on listening, learning and trust. Leaders were visible, knowledgeable and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles. There was a culture of continuous improvement with staff given time and resources to try new ideas.
People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.
We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities which most people take for granted.

An Expert by Experience made calls to family members, close friends, key professionals and people’s representatives and gathered views about people’s experience of being supported by the provider. An Expert by Experience is a person who has personal experience of caring for someone who uses this type of care service.
People were positive about the quality of care and support provided by the service. People told us the service was safe. One relative said, “I have no qualms about [family member’s] safety.” People who received support shared their feedback with the service about the changes to their lives. When asked about how they felt after receiving support from the service one person said, “Good, confident and happy. Feelings that I haven’t had before. Staff have helped me love myself. I like feeling good enough to go outside. Thanks to you and my staff for getting me to where I am.” Another person was asked what their life was like now, they said, “[It is] loads better, I get to go on holidays, learn how to drive, do woodwork and the staff are nice.”
Professionals who worked with the provider said, “We worked together. I can’t praise them enough. [Person] is experiencing what people should have.” We heard how people’s outcomes were improved, “Risks are reduced. [Previous behaviours] are not happening now. [The provider] focuses on what is happening now and what works well. [Person] goes out by themselves. [Person] has a good quality of life. [The provider] has made a big difference to [person’s] life.”
A family member told us about how the provider supported their relative to develop and maintain their independence, “[Person] attends their local doctors and dentist. [The provider] helps them to be independent when going. [The provider] did a lot of work before [person] was discharged from [previous placement.]”
We were told the service was well led. A family member said, “If I needed to speak to a manager I can as they always have an on-call manager.”
