Castle Road is a residential home providing care, rehabilitation and support for up to 13 people with mental health needs. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of our inspection 3 people were receiving personal care. We spent time with and spoke with 2 people living at the service, 3 members of staff, the registered manager, and the nominated individual to help us assess and understand how people's care needs were being met. The nominated individual is a person who is responsible for supervising the management of the service on behalf of the provider. The inspection was prompted in part due to concerns received about people not receiving person centred care and a decision was made for us to inspect and examine those risks. We found no evidence during this inspection that people were at risk of harm from this concern. We looked at 16 quality statements; Learning culture, Safe systems, pathways and transitions, Safeguarding, Involving people to manage risks, Safe environments, Safe and effective, staffing, Infection prevention and control, Medicines optimisation, Consent to care and treatment, Independence, choice and control, Shared direction and culture, Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders, Freedom to speak up, Workforce equality, diversity and inclusion, Governance, management and sustainability and Learning, improvement and innovation. Date of assessment 15 May to 12 June 2024.
