During a routine inspection
We spent time observing staff as they provided support to people who lived in the home. People used gestures to indicate that they were happy and we saw them making choices about what they wanted to do, where they wanted to go and what they preferred to eat. People looked relaxed in the company of staff.
We contacted two relatives of people who lived in the home and we looked at completed questionnaires which the home had sent to visiting relatives and professionals. People expressed their confidence in the home.
The comments included:
'The real strength of 1, Greatwood Road is the long serving staff group and low turnover'
'(the manager) regularly communicates concerns, issues and good practice
She is approachable positive and open to new ideas'
'I feel the staff care for P as an individual They advocate on P's behalf and I am very happy with the care P receives.'
