During a routine inspection
People appeared comfortable and relaxed in the company of the staff and their environment. Staff included people in everything they did, either by discussing the morning's activities or through suggestion and encouragement. We saw that they treated people with kindness, and gave them time to make decisions or respond to suggestions. Staff also knew people's non verbal methods of communication and responded to them appropriately.
People had care plans in place that identified their care and support needs. These were reviewed and evaluated regularly and provided current information. A relative we spoke with told us that they were involved in their family member's care and support as they attended review meetings. They said, "We have a review meeting soon, they are held twice a year."
Staff were supported with regular meetings and discussions to provide the care and support people required.
Systems were in place to monitor and evaluate the quality and safety of the service provided.
