During a routine inspection
We interviewed a number of people. One person said: 'the staff are very kind, very good. The food is fine here. I have no problems. You can have a cuppa whenever you ask. I think we get good value here. We are treated with very nice effort. They do a lot to encourage people. They do have outings which is good. They do their best. It's a lovely place to walk around.'
Another person said: 'I'm alright. Happy here. No complaints. The food is all right and the staff too. If there was a problem and I wanted to talk to staff I'm confident they'd sort it. I like doing a crossword, watching the television, having family visit and take me out. 'Perfect.'
A third person said: 'Everything is fine, everybody seems quite happy. The children come very often. Staff make them very welcome with a cup of tea'Very good food really; you can have whatever you want. The staff seem okay. My room is quite comfortable. They're always very kind. I'm able to get to church and that means a lot to me'..Would report if things were not as they should be, I'm sure they'd sort the problem out'By and large this place is very good. When I had to move to a home I never thought it could be okay but it has worked out well.'
A fourth person said: 'I like it nicely here. They're nice here. I quite like the food, its reasonable'. It's just right for me here'.The staff are very sweet. I love them all'
We spoke to some visitors. They had this to say. 'Cannot sing their praises enough. My mother is completely bed ridden but she's happy. The staff are very friendly. My mother eats well and I've never had any problem at all'.
And the local district nurse commented: 'I would be more than happy to live here. It's wonderful here. They are very quick to alert us if there are any problems. I have no concerns about the service'
