During a routine inspection
One person said 'Staff have got to know me since arriving' (here at the home) and 'I like it here because staff help me.'
They also told us staff do not always knock and wait for a reply before entering rooms. Staff told us this was difficult as some of the people cannot respond verbally to let staff know when they can enter.
The people using the service also said 'I am happy with my room', 'everything's good here', 'I can come into my bedroom at any time' and '3 Storer Close feels like a home rather than just a place you go to, to get cared for', 'I go out with staff to meet people'.
One person using the service told us 'I'm quite a happy person'; but also added they did not know who would help them if they were not happy. Another stated they are not able to go out alone, but no one has explained why.
We spoke to the staff in relation to how they supported people and they were aware how this was offered to each individual.
Staff said they have access to individual supervision, appraisal and general staff meetings. The staff spoken with stated they felt supported throughout this process and felt they could raise any issues in the privacy of supervisions or in the public forum of a meeting.
