Edgemont View Nursing Home

Edgemont View Nursing Home is a care home registered to provide accommodation, nursing, and personal care. The service provides support, respite and nursing care to older people and those who are living with dementia. This assessment commenced on 16 January 2024 and was completed on 25 March 2024. An Expert by Experience made phone calls to people’s relatives on 29 January 2024. An Expert by Experience is a person who has personal experience of using or caring for someone who uses this type of care service. In the assessment, we looked at 5 quality statements; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Independence, choice and control and equity in experiences and outcomes.

We received positive feedback from people’s relatives, as well as staff. Relatives told us they felt the home was safe for people, they felt at ease with the staff and were able to raise any concerns. Relatives commented that people were involved in decisions which affected them, where they were able to. People were supported to make informed choices about their day-to-day care and how they lived their life. People were encouraged to participate in activities and were supported to access the local community. This helped to promote their health and wellbeing.
