During a routine inspection
We looked at five care plans during our visit and noted that they were detailed and person centred. The people we spoke with confirmed that they had signed their care plans and were asked for their consent before the carers gave them any assistance.
People had a choice of what they would like to eat at meal times and we noted the food served was nutritious and met individual needs. All of the people we spoke with said that the food was excellent.
We saw that there were enough suitably trained and experienced staff to meet the needs of people using the service. During the visit we observed staff speaking to people in a caring and respectful manner.
Herondale was clean and free from any hazards. We observed health and safety information and saw evidence that staff followed infection control and good hygiene procedures.
The provider had adequate procedures in place to ensure people's records and service records were accurate and kept safe and confidential. We did not have access to the staff records to determine if these were accurate and fit for purpose.
