During a routine inspection
Patients told us they were happy with the care and support they received. Patients said they found nursing staff and volunteers to be attentive and responsive to their needs. Patients comments included: - 'I've been coming here for two years; they can't do enough for you. It's my social event of the week, meeting and talking with people. It's also the fellowship of being with people who understand what you're going through.' 'Me and my wife have used the complementary therapies, both having had head and back massages.' 'I've joined in the quizzes and the bingo. We also have remembrance services for those people who are no longer with us.'
We spoke with the provider and others with specific responsibilities within the service. People we spoke with were able to tell us about the day to day running of the service and how they involved patients and their relatives in reviewing the service they provided. We looked at a range of records, which included patient records, staff recruitment, audits for the prevention of infection and the maintenance of the service. All recording systems were up to date and effectively used to monitor the service.
