Our view of the service
St Anthony's Residential Home Limited is a 'care home' that provides care and support to older people some of whom may be living with dementia. People in care homes receive accommodation and nursing or personal care as single package under one contractual agreement. The service accommodates up to 16 people. On the first day of the assessment 9 people were living at the home. We carried out our unannounced on-site assessments on 25 and 30 April 2024, off site assessment activity started on 25 April ended on 3 May 2024. At our last inspection the service was rated requires improvement. At this assessment the service has remained requires improvement. We identified 5 breaches of the regulations during this assessment.
People's experience of this service
People and their relatives told us St Anthony’s was a safe and comfortable place to live. Comments received included, “You are cared for. I don’t feel abandoned”, “The staff definitely know what they are doing” and “Staff are available if you want someone”. The service was well staffed and staff responded promptly to people’s request for assistance. Staff and leaders provided support with kindness and compassion. We looked at 8 quality statements; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe environments; Safe and effective staffing; Medicines optimisation; Assessing needs; Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders; Governance, management and sustainability.
