Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
Within 7 days of this notice being served, the registered person must implement a system to ensure that service users are being supported to move safely and staff are doing this is in line with a detailed care plan and risk assessment. A report of the action taken to achieve this must be provided to the Commission once complete.
Upon service of this notice, the registered person must promptly and without delay proceed to ensure that all fire doors are free from obstruction and are closed, and locked if instructions specify to keep service user safe.
The registered person must ensure a medicines trained staff member is on duty at all times and identifiable to other staff to ensure medicines can be administered if required.
Within 7 days of this notice being served, the registered person must implement a system to ensure that service users’ medicines are managed safely. This includes two staff members signing for the use of controlled medicines, oversight of prescribed creams when and where they are being applied, time critical medicines being given as prescribed, and following the manufacturer’s instructions regarding the siting of transdermal patches. All medicine administration records should be reflective of the prescribed medication, the frequency, and who and when medicines were administered. This system must be based upon the NICE Guidance Managing medicines in a care home. A report of the action taken to achieve this must be provided to the Commission once complete.
Upon service of this notice, the registered person must ensure they have oversight of all accidents and incidents in the service. This includes ensuring staff have the awareness and knowledge of the registered person’s and external policies and procedures to ensure service user's safety. This includes the escalation of injuries to a relevant healthcare professional and safeguarding where needed.
The registered person must, within 14 days of this notice being served, undertake a full review of all quality monitoring systems in place to monitor the safety and quality of service user’s care. Thereafter, the registered person must provide the Commission with a report of actions detailing what quality checks are in place, any action plans identified, and how this will be shared and embedded with the staff team.
The registered person must not admit any new service user to Hill House High Street, Ellington, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, PE28 0AG without the prior written agreement of the Care Quality Commission. This includes, any respite or emergency admissions of service users, or where service users return to the location following admission to hospital.
Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The Registered Provider must not provide nursing care under accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care at Hill House.
The Registered Provider must only accommodate a maximum of 37 service users at Hill House.
