During a routine inspection

We used the services of an 'expert by experience' to talk with people who use the service.

The expert spoke with 8 people who use the service. Everyone said that they were pleased with the overall service that they received, and that they felt that they were treated with respect, and always spoken with in an appropriate manner. One person said: 'You can trust them to allow us our independence and they always treat us with dignity.' One person described the agency as: 'Brilliant.'

All of the people who spoke with the expert said they were pleased with the overall service. All but one of the people spoken with said that their care plan had been updated since they started using the service. One person said: "If there are things we don't like we will tell them, they will apologise and change it."

During a routine inspection

We spoke to two people who used the service and one relative to find out how the service was regarded.

Everyone we spoke with found the service to be reliable and that staff did over and above what was expected of them. People told us the service was flexible and the timing of the calls suited them and their life styles.

The staff were regarded as kind and considerate. One person told us they 'marvellous' and they 'couldn't cope without them'.

There were care plans in place for each person and these had been written in consultation with people who used the service. People had contracts to ensure it was clear to them what service was to be provided and how much this was going to cost.

The provider had a hands on approach and was known by everyone we spoke with.
