Care files were detailed, regularly reviewed and relevant for people's assessed needs.

People told us the food was very good and they always had enough.

We observed carpets throughout the home were stained and had offensive odours. A refurbishment was due to commence the following Monday which would include replacement flooring, curtains, furniture and redecoration of the home.

There was an effective complaints system in place. Comments and complaints people made were responded to appropriately and in a timely manner.

Two relatives said the care in the home was very good and they were confident that their relatives were looked after well. One relative told us 'My family member is very relaxed and calm. The fact that she is not anxious or upset is very reassuring to me.' Another relative said,'The staff always have time to say hello. They are very respectful towards my family member. I watch them dealing with other people and they know what each person likes and how to help them.'

People felt their views were listened to and their choices were respected. People and visiting relatives confirmed that sufficient staff were on duty and staff were kind and caring. One person represented the views of many when they told us, 'This is a lovely home and I'm very happy here. The staff are so helpful and I have all I need.'
