During a routine inspection
In this report the name of a registered manager appears who was not in post and not managing the regulatory activities at this location at the time of the inspection. Their name appears because they were still a Registered Manager on our register at the time. Since their resignation Mikhail Louvard has been the sole registered manager.
The care and support coordinator was enthusiastic about the service. They told us they felt the quality of care was perfect and that everyone who lived there and staff 'had a purpose'. We saw that people had a variety of opportunities.
We spoke with other staff one of whom told us how they 'loved' their job and felt supported in their work. We saw that staff had opportunities for training and received formal supervision.
We saw the results of the 2012 survey. There were mainly positive responses to questions about where people lived within Orchard Leigh, the support they received and staff. People indicated they felt supported with their housework, meals and activities and felt there was enough opportunities to go out. All of the people who responded indicated they would speak with a member of staff if they were unhappy about any aspect of their support and most knew about the complaints process.
