Our view of the service
Collingswood Care is a domiciliary care agency. It provides personal care to people living in their own homes in the community. It provides a service to older people within Plymouth. At the time of the inspection the agency supported people with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, mental health needs, and people living with dementia. We carried out an onsite and off-site assessment. At the time of the inspection the agency supported 355 people with personal care. Activity started on 11 January 2024 and ended on 17 January 2024. We looked at 15 quality statements.
People's experience of this service
People told us if they were unwell, staff would act on it and contact health professionals as needed. People told us they felt safe and told us the service carried out an assessment to discuss risks before they started to receive care. People complimented their regular staff and told us they knew how to meet their needs. However people gave a varied response in relation to staffing levels and the effectiveness of staff. People told us staff wore appropriate PPE including gloves, aprons, and masks (when needed). People told us they were able to speak with the manager or senior staff and found them approachable.
