During an inspection looking at part of the service
This was a focused visit to check if the compliance actions made following our previous visit on 5 February 2013 had been addressed. Therefore we did not speak to people using the service at this visit. People that we spoke with at our visit on 5 February 2013 confirmed that they were happy with the support and services provided to them.
A compliance action was left at our last visit which related to the medication administration practices that were in place for one person using the service. This was because this person was not always given their medication in a safe way. At this visit the records in place demonstrated that medication administration practices in place for this person had improved and showed us that their care plan and risk assessment regarding medication was being followed appropriately.
A compliance action was left at our last visit which related to staff supervision, as no records of staff formal supervision sessions were seen for 2012 and staff were unable to recall when they last received formal supervision. At this visit records in place demonstrated that actions had been taken to ensure staff performance was monitored and that staff were effectively supported in carrying out their roles.
