We interviewed six residents in some detail during our visit to this home, and spoke with several more when we visited four tables in one of the dining rooms at lunch time. All those we spoke to said staff treated residents well, and responses such as 'Grand' and 'I've always been treated very well' were typical. The people we spoke with made very positive comments about the home and the care they received. Comments such as 'I can't fault it' and 'You couldn't get a better place' summed up the general feeling from residents.
We were given some positive comments about the therapies and activities including: 'I join everything I can, like physiotherapy, and there are loads of activities.' People mentioned a variety of activities that were available including being taken out shopping, rides in the country, quizzes, crosswords, scrabble, bingo, concerts, hand exercises and manicures, arts and crafts, and going out in the garden.
People told us they felt safe living in this home, and had no complaints. They told us that the home was kept clean and fresh, and that they had access to the special equipment they needed, including physiotherapy equipment in the gym.
We asked people what they thought about the quality of the service at this home and the responses were all positive, ranging from 'Very good' to 'Absolutely marvellous.' Several noted that the home had a good atmosphere and was well run.
