During a routine inspection
BAP meet the needs of the person using the service by placing them with a carer who is trained to support their needs and recruited from the community. It is a flexible arrangement and meets the individual needs of the person.
BAP also offers a be-friending service where people have friends outside the family for social interaction.
We found BAP had up to date policies and procedures in place to support the safe running of the service.
The service securely maintained both electronic records in the office and paper based records in the person's home.
BAP had a robust complaints policy and process however they had had no complaints in recent months for us to track.
BAP had an intense recruitment process for people wishing to become carers, with all required checks being evidenced in the electronic records held for the carers.
Carers told us: 'We are really well supported and know we can contact the staff at any time'. 'We have people living with us in our home and its great as they can still feel part of a family whilst being supported'.
Staff told us they felt supported and valued in their roles.
One carer told us he felt he got excellent support the best possible from the team at BAP.
