During a routine inspection
People said that they were able to make some choices about their day to day lives and we noted that care plans gave details of people's preferred routines, likes and dislikes. One relative said 'Carers have the personal touch and everybody receives different care.'
People said that the care they received was very good and met their needs. One person said that the staff responded quickly to any changes and any new issues or needs were quickly addressed. A relative said that the home kept them well informed and all changes to the care plan were discussed with them.
People said that they liked the food in the home and they always received plenty to eat. We observed the main meal of the day. Support was provided to people in a sensitive unhurried manner. A relative said 'They take lots of care with food and make sure everyone has enough.'
People said that if they were unhappy about anything they would speak to a member of staff or the manager.
We saw people joining in with various activities through the day, but one person said they would like there to be more organised activities and more meetings for residents.
Everyone was happy with their rooms and said that furniture was comfortable. People said that the home was kept clean and tidy.
People appeared comfortable and relaxed with the staff who supported them. Staff demonstrated a good knowledge of people's individual needs.
One person said 'It's a nice place, the staff are nice and they look after me quite well on the whole.' Another person said 'I love it here.'
