Caring
People told us they received kind and compassionate care and could make their own choices. Staff told us they felt supported and respected by the management team.

Independence, choice and control
People told us they received kind and compassionate care and could make their own choices. Staff told us they felt supported and respected by the management team.
The provider promoted people’s independence and people could choose how they wanted to live their lives. The registered provider shared examples of people's independence being promoted, such as 1 person completed a food hygiene certificate and applied to become a trainer where they would be involved in delivering learning disabilities and autism training to others. Staff promoted people’s independence. We saw examples of staff encouraging people to carry out daily tasks independently and asking people if they would like additional support.
People told us they had choice and control. We observed staff responding kindly to people. Staff asked people's permission before carrying out any support tasks. Staff treated people with dignity and respect, they knocked on people's doors and asked permission before entering people's rooms.

Workforce wellbeing and enablement
Staff told us they felt supported and valued by the provider. One staff member said, “The management are really approachable. They never stay in the office.” Another staff member told us, “I love working here, it's like a family. There is no discrimination, they (management team) treat everyone as part of the family.” Staff told us there were regular supervisions where they could address concerns and receive support. Another staff member told us how they had been supported to complete their health and social care diploma.
The provider celebrated moments of kindness, where staff were recognised for new initiatives or ideas to promote people's wellbeing. Feedback forms were provided to staff to enable them to feedback their feelings and experiences about working in the home.
