During a routine inspection
We spoke with ten people using the service and two relatives about their experiences of the care and support being provided.
The people we talked with told us they were satisfied with the care and support they receive. Their comments included,
'There is a sense that the staff actually care about the people here.'
'The staff care for me very well'
We observed that people looked clean and appropriately dressed for the time of year. People who were in bed had been made as comfortable as possible with pillows, blankets and call bells close to hand.
The registered manager was on leave at the time of our visit. The deputy manager was present when we arrived. We also spoke with the administrator, two registered nurses and three care staff.
We observed that staff gave people the support they needed.
We observed that staff treated people with respect and maintained their dignity; for example, personal care was provided in private and people were spoken to respectfully and addressed by their preferred names.
