Our current view of the service

Holmwood Rest Home is a residential care home registered to provide care and support to up to 16 people. The building had been adapted and care was provided over 2 floors with stairs and a stair lift as access. There were 9 people living at the home at the time of site visit. We visited this service on 8 January 2024. During this assessment we looked at quality statements under each of the 5 key questions. Holmwood Rest Home had made significant and sustained improvements across all quality statements and key questions.

People and their loved ones told us they were happy with the care they received at Holmwood Rest Home, many commented on the ‘family feel’ of the home. One relative told us, “My loved one [name] is safe there. I have always been very happy with Holmwood.” Staff had long service and told us they worked well as a team. People felt safe, staff were assured by good policies and processes within the home. Care was planned in a person-centred way. People had choices and led comfortable lives, where risks to their wellbeing were acknowledged and managed. The home worked well with external professionals including, care and medical professionals. Management and leadership were visible and improvements to governance has been sustained.
