During a routine inspection
When we undertook a visit to Woodview Care Home people who lived at the home told us they were happy with the care and support that they received. We met with six of the people who live there during a coffee morning and they told us that the staff supported them in the way they wished with one person saying, 'It's good to be involved and to meet as we want". During the meeting people also said they enjoyed the food at the home saying 'It's really improved since we got the new chef, he talks to us and makes us what we like'.
Another person we spoke to during our visit told us 'I choose to do my own thing. I go to the pub when I want to and I use local transport myself. The staff support me to be as independent as I want to be and I like that'.
We spoke to two people about how they are supported to help keep them safe from harm. One person said ' I would have no hesitation in raising a concern if I felt I was at risk or if I was concerned about other residents' and another person said 'The staff are easy to talk to and any concerns we raise are dealt with quickly, yes I feel safe here'
We also spoke to one person who was outside using one of the communal patio and garden areas to undertake a chosen activity who told us that they had been growing vegetables and had been supported to do this saying. 'I have always liked gardening and they helped me to keep my hobbies going'.
