During a routine inspection
We found that the assessment and care planning system was thorough and comprehensive giving good guidance to staff about how to deliver care and support. Staff told us that it was easy to use. People who used the service told us that the staff who delivered the care took time to talk with them which put them at ease about receiving personal care.
We found that staff understood the principles of safeguarding and that there were good systems in place to report abuse if it was suspected.
Staff told us that their induction and training was thorough and supportive. We found that staff received appropriate professional development.
We were shown comprehensive quality monitoring systems including the results of an "annual service user questionnaire" which showed a high level of satisfaction with the service and an action plan to manage negative comments. We were told about the regular staff meetings where care staff can share their views about the running of the service with the managers. We found that people who use services and staff were asked their views about the delivery of care and support and their views were acted on.
