During a routine inspection
People living in the home told us that the knew the staff who were providing their care and told us they could request different carers and make choices about their care. We were also told that the food was always very good and choices were available.
People spoke about being able to move around the home and even though it was a cold day one resident spoke about dressing up warmly and going into the garden.
All of the people using the service that we spoke to were complimentary about the staff and particularly the manager. One resident said of the manager 'he is great' and a visitor told us that he seen improvement under the manager and would feel able to tell him if there were problems.
We were told that staff were always in evidence and there were a number of different activities organised in the home. One person told us that staff could respond more promptly to call bells, but confirmed that the wait was not unacceptable but could be quicker.
