Our view of the service
Buckingham House is a nursing home providing accommodation and personal care to people aged 18 and over. At our last inspection, this home was rated requires improvement. At this assessment we found the provider had made improvements. Staff assessed and mitigated risks. Care plans guided safe practice. The provider had enough staff to ensure people’s safety and meet their needs. People were supported to have choice and control and were involved in planning their care.
People's experience of this service
People spoke positively about the care they received and told us staff at Buckingham House were kind and caring. Relatives were pleased by the quality of care people received. People told us they were supported by sufficient numbers of experienced and skilled staff, and they felt safe living at the home. We observed and people told us staff responded quickly when needed. People were supported to make decisions where they had capacity to do so. Where people lacked capacity, staff worked with them and their representatives to make decisions in their best interests. People told us their medicines appropriately administered, and they were supported to access external healthcare services when required.
