Our view of the service
Date of assessment 29 May 2024 to 6 September 2024. The assessment was carried out in response to information of concern we received. We found two breaches of the legal regulations relating to safe care and treatment and good governance. The service did not always provide safe care and treatment and governance systems and audits were not effective in identifying or addressing areas for improvement and oversight. We found a lack of oversight of incidents and accidents which meant people were not always protected from the risk of safe care. There was inconsistent recording identified in the care records and there was a lack of governance oversight. Effective systems were not in place to ensure care was provided safely and appropriately and for effective oversight and improvement of the service. However, people were supported to have choice and control. We have asked the service for an action plan in response to the concerns identified at this assessment.
People's experience of this service
We received mixed feedback on the service from people and representatives. Some people told us they were happy with carers and service. We also received feedback people and representatives were concerned about the training and communication skills. However, people told us the carers were kind, helpful and respectful. People told us they were involved when the care plans were actioned.
