During a routine inspection
Everyone provided us with positive responses when we asked them their experiences of Mill View. They told us they did receive the care and treatment they needed, if they needed medical attention the staff were quick to respond and contact the appropriate health professional. Two relatives described it as a 'Five star hotel'. One person told us they could ask and have a bath whenever they wanted.
Two of the people using the service and two relatives explained staff were kind, considerate and helpful. They responded as quickly as possible to peoples needs. Two relatives explained how staff on the dementia unit would explain their actions before providing personal care and seek people's agreement. However, they all told us the staff were always 'rushed'. One person told us they did not like to 'Bother the staff because they were so rushed'. We asked how this impacted on their care and treatment and they told us the only effect was a lack of activities.
Four people and four relatives told us they would tell the manager if they had a concern and there were regular meetings where they could make their views known.
