During a routine inspection
Staff did not have access to clear guidance about the needs of people and how these needs were to be best managed.
We completed an audit of monies held on site and found balances to correspond to records held. However reconciliation of monies held had not happened despite an agreed action plan with CQC.
We spoke to people about the building and environment. Everyone we spoke to inlcuding staff, relatives and people living in the home said the home required work to make it safe. One person said, "I came to the Spinney because it used to have a good reputation; I wish I’d looked into things more before I’d moved in.”
We looked at training records of staff and noted that a real effort had been put into supporting staff with recent training. Staff who had recently started at the home described a suitable induction and had received formal supervision.
We looked closely at the audits undertaken. We found that whilst some areas of concern had been identified others had not. Concerns that had been identified for action were not always completed. Actions that had been completed were not done so in a timely manner
