During a routine inspection

With their prior agreement we visited four people in their own home and asked them about their experience of using this small agency's domiciliary services. We also spoke with another four people by telephone and heard their views about the quality of service they had received.

All the people we spoke with were very satisfied with the standard of care and support provided by the agency staff. One person described the staff as 'very efficient and kind' Another person said 'We could not wish for better. The service has been very good. We get on really well with all the carers.'

We found the agency to be appropriately managed and we saw that people received reliable, safe and effective care that enabled them to live independently at home.

During a routine inspection

We used a number of different methods to help us understand the experiences of people using the service. This was because the people using the service had complex needs which meant they were not able to tell us their experiences.

We spoke with the relatives of three people, who told us that the carer workers knew their relative's needs well.

One person said 'The care staff always speak to my husband before they give any care, then after they have written their notes, they always go back in to say their goodbyes'.

One person said they were 'very very good, they pay great attention to detail and very reliable'.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people who use the service. We also spoke with four relatives about their views of the care provided by the agency.

The people we spoke with were very satisfied with the care supplied by the service. Staff were seen as friendly and respectful.

People praised the service: '' Staff are superb. They are very friendly, and efficient '. 'I have never needed to make a complaint but whenever I talk to the manager things get done very quickly. ' 'We had a problem with a carer and she was replaced quickly. ' 'They try to make sure that the carers don't change too much.'
