Our view of the service
Date of assessment 19 June 2024 to 31 July 2024. We found that people were receiving a good standard of care and that staff and management knew people well. Staff treated people with kindness and compassion, and there was a positive and friendly culture in the service. Areas for improvement were identified, and these were mainly in their procedures and documentation, some of which had already been identified by the registered manager and were being worked on.
People's experience of this service
People who could speak with us, and their relatives gave very positive feedback about the service. They told us they were cared for by kind and thoughtful staff, who knew them well. We used observations of care to assess people’s experience as some people were unable to communicate with us during our assessment. Relatives told us that they would not hesitate to raise any concerns and felt that these would be acted on promptly and thoroughly. We heard several examples from relatives of where people’s mood and confidence had improved since moving into Sunnyhill, and how that had led to them enjoying social events and activities.
