During an inspection looking at part of the service
We spoke with four people and one visitor about their experiences of the care and support being provided. People were complimentary about the care, treatment and support they received. People told us: 'They are all very kind to us'I like it here'. 'Everything seems to be catered for'.
We saw that staff were respectful and caring towards people. People told us:
'They are very nice'. 'There are some good people'. 'They are very nice most of them'.
A visiting family member told us: 'I think the home is fantastic. The care is there'.
We saw that some people chose to participate in social activities taking place in the day care lounge. Others chose to sit quietly in one of the other lounges and read or watch the television, some people chose to stay in their rooms.
People told us they would approach family members or talk to staff if they had any concerns. People that we spoke with told us they were happy in the home. They told us: 'I am quite happy with it all'. 'I quite like it here, it's a nice room".
People told us they were generally satisfied with the food and we saw that the food looked appetising at lunchtime. People told us: 'It's quite good I can't expect it to be quite what you want'. 'Quite nice'. People were being regularly consulted about the food and other aspects related to the running of the home to ensure they were happy with the care and services they were receiving.
People had been able to bring in small items to personalise their rooms and we saw that rooms were clean and tidy.
Staff told us they were happy working in the home but felt they were rushed attending to people particularly during the mornings. This had been acknowledged by the manager who explained that staffing arrangements were being monitored to ensure people received the level of care and support they would expect.
