Our current view of the service

Requires improvement

Updated 7 February 2024

Date of assessment 20 February 2024 to 13 August 2024. The assessment included site visits to the home on 20 February, 29 February, 3 August and 13 August 2024 over 2 stages. Newline Care home is a residential care home providing personal care to adults, some of whom may be living with dementia. At the time of our assessment there were between 24 to 25 people using the service. At the last inspection the provider was rated good, at this assessment the rating has changed to requires improvement. At this assessment we found 3 breaches of regulation in relation to consent, safe care and treatment and good governance. Although the manager had made some improvements to the service, we identified care plans were not fully reflective of people’s needs and people had not consistently been involved in developing and reviewing them. Processes for analysing incidents were not robust and oversight of falls needed to be further improved. People said they were safe and staff said they felt supported and received regular supervision.
