During a routine inspection
Comments from people included; 'I go to bed when I want', 'I can talk to the staff', 'I have my own things in my bedroom', 'I have my room how I want it', 'I see the doctor when I am ill', 'The staff are ok', 'I talk to staff' 'It's ok here', 'I buy my own clothes', 'I do my own shopping', ' 'I can do what I want to do', 'I go out and about', 'I choose what to eat', ', 'I do lots of things', 'I play darts, I like sport', 'I like music', 'I have been to concerts', 'I go out a lot', 'I go to Wembley and Harlesden', 'I go out into the garden sometimes', and 'I have meetings about my care plan'.
People told us they received the care and support that they needed, and felt fully involved in their plan of care and support. People informed us that staff listened to them and were approachable. People confirmed they felt safe living in the home and told us they would talk to staff if they had any worries or concerns.
During our visit people were seen to be relaxed and showed signs of well being. They smiled, laughed and interacted in a positive manner with other people using the service. People went out into the local community and participated in activities of their choice.
Staff spoke of enjoying their job supporting and caring for people at Jerome House. They confirmed they received appropriate training and felt well supported by management staff.
