During a routine inspection
People informed us they received the care and support they wanted and needed. They told us staff listened to them and were approachable. People confirmed they felt safe living in the home and knew who to talk to if they had any worries or concerns. During our visit people showed signs of 'well being'. They were seen to be relaxed, went out into the community and participated in activities of their choice.
Staff spoke of enjoying their job supporting and caring for people at Tanfield House. They confirmed there was good teamwork and they felt well supported by management staff.
Comments from people included; 'I have lived here for a few years, it is ok,' I keep in contact with my family,' 'I buy my own clothes,' 'I cook sometimes,' 'I have a nice bedroom,' 'I lock my bedroom door to keep my things safe,' ' I can talk to staff, they listen,' 'I see the doctor if I need to,' and 'I get the bus to Wembley and I do shopping sometimes.'
