Our view of the service
Date of assessment 24 September 2024 to 2 October 2024. The assessment included a site visit to the home on 24 September 2024 to 25 September 2024. Maplehurst is a care home which provides personal and nursing care and accommodation to a maximum of 5 people. We assessed the service because there had been concerns identified regarding the quality and safety of the home. We looked at 105 quality statements.
People's experience of this service
People told us they were cared for by staff who were kind and listened to them. People told us they felt safe and were protected from abuse. Staff respected people’s preferences and encouraged them to be independent. People and their relatives felt able to speak up and share concerns which were then investigated. People were given their medication as prescribed or supported to administer them independently. People were supported by multi-disciplinary teams who knew their needs well and helped to improve their health. People’s risks were managed safely, and the service explored ways to take positive risks when appropriate to do so. People and their relatives were given opportunities to share feedback about their care and to make improvements when needed. People were asked for their consent and received person centred care.
