This service is a domiciliary care agency. It provides personal care to people living with learning and physical difficulties in their own houses and flats. At the time of this inspection it provided care to 9 people.This assessment was undertaken following CQC’s new approach for assessment. This was our first assessment of the service using this new approach. We looked at 4 key question areas (safe, effective, caring and responsive). We carried out an announced visit to the service on 20 and 24 May 2024. The assessment was carried out by one inspector, one assessor and an Expert by Experience. An Expert by Experience is a person who has personal experience of using or caring for someone who uses this type of care service. People received safe care and support. Each person had a care plan and a range of risk assessments meaning their safety and well-being was being protected. People were supported to have as much choice and control of their lives as possible. Staff received training in infection control and food hygiene. This has helped to prevent the spread of infection to people. Safe medicines practices were followed. There were enough staff to meet people's needs. Robust and safe recruitment practices were in place. Staff received essential training to meet peoples support and care needs. People’s relatives confirmed they were involved in their care planning. The provider had effective systems to support people’s diverse needs and protecting their lifestyle choices. The service was caring and responsive. Staff were kind and caring and had a good understanding of how to meet people’s needs. Staff knew people well. The service had a strong, visible person-centred culture. People were supported to maintain relationships and social contacts. People were given the privacy and dignity they needed. Relatives and professionals agreed the service was excellent at providing person-centred care. The service was well-led by the registered manager and management team.
