Leaders told us their strategy and ethos was shared with staff regularly during team meetings and one to one supervision. Leaders were confident staff followed their direction and engaged with their plans and standards of care.
Leaders told us staff were up to date with their mandatory training. Leaders monitored progress of outstanding training. Leaders told us they had completed all the requirements following the stakeholder quality assessment according to an action plan.

Workforce equality, diversity and inclusion
They recently recruited 2 overseas staff members as part of the government sponsorship license scheme. They made a further 5 applications as they had sufficient care hours to provide staff with an adequate working rota. The sponsored staff found suitable housing and have access to the company car.
Leaders told us they had a very diverse staff group. Leaders told us they plan to grow but will manage this slowly.
Governance, management and sustainability
Leaders told us they have good oversight of the staff and care being provided. They have a small close-knit staff group who support each other. Leaders also worked in people’s homes alongside staff to carry out spot checks and support their practice.
The service now has a Deputy Manager to support the General Manager. Leaders are members of a manager support network run by the local authority. This helps with shared learning and keeping up to date with current best practice. Leaders told us they complete regular monthly audits of all care and staff records.

Learning, improvement and innovation
Leaders told us they had completed all the necessary and required recommendations and had learned lessons in all identified areas.
