Our view of the service
We carried out this on-site, announced assessment on 22 August 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. Infection control procedures followed published guidance. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance. Patients were treated with dignity and respect. At the time of our assessment, patients could access care, support and treatment when required. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.. Damira Ruislip is part of Damira Dental Studios a dental group provider. The practice is in the London Borough of Hillingdon and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 6 dentists, 2 dental nurses, 1 trainee dental nurse, 3 dental hygienists, 3 receptionists and a practice manager. The practice had 3 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse, 1 receptionist and the practice manager. We also spoke with one of the regulatory officers for the dental group.
People's experience of this service
Two weeks before our visit, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We did not receive any feedback from patients. We reviewed patient feedback gathered by the practice. These included online reviews, for example on the NHS Choices website. The majority of patient reviews and patient feedback we were shown provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patients commented on the professional and efficient service provided by the dentists and dental hygienists. Comments included ‘I always felt well cared for, reassured and confident in my treatment’, ‘The staff team were caring’, and ‘Excellent service from the booking, the explanations of treatments, the options and the treatments’. Patients told us they could access care and treatment from the practice within an acceptable timescale for their needs. They had enough time during their appointment and did not feel rushed. Patients felt they were seen on time and a number of people said that they were offered an appointment quickly when they had a dental emergency.
