During an inspection looking at part of the service

We haven't been able to speak to people using the service concerning this visit as we were checking on actions taken by the provider with respect to risk assessments and checking of Criminal Records Bureau checks on staff, in addition to the covering of chairs in the surgery. This was to follow up on improvements required, that were identified at a previous review on 22 February 2012.

During a routine inspection

During our visit to the surgery on 22 February 2012 we spoke with two people who were waiting to see the dentist. They told us that they were treated well. One person said, 'I came here because my friend told me the dentist was kind and patient and I don't like coming to the dentists', They confirmed they had had a positive experience and the dentist had indeed been kind and patient with them. One person told us she came to this dentist at Barton while her husband preferred to go the surgery at Flitwick. She said, 'I am sure they work the same but sometimes it is easier to get on with one person than another'. She went on to say 'we have never had a problem getting an appointment and the treatment has always been good'.

People told us that the surgery was always clean and tidy. We were told that gloves and eye protection were worn by the staff when providing treatment, and patients were given protection for their eyes.
