During a routine inspection
Orthodontics is the study of dentistry that is concerned with the treatment of improper bites, and crooked teeth. Orthodontic treatment can help fix the patient's teeth and set them in the right place. Orthodontists usually use braces and retainers to set the patient's teeth.
We spoke with three people and their relatives about their care. Everyone said they were happy/satisfied with the treatment they had received. One person said, "Staff treated their young relative like an adult which was nice as they felt respected and understood the treatment fully." Another person said "I didn't understand their plan at first, so I called the practice, and they explained it fully."
We found a friendly atmosphere within the practice, we saw staff interact pleasantly and warmly with people who came in for appointments.
We found people received care and treatment in a clean environment with infection control measures in place to minimise the risk of infection. People we spoke with told us the practice was always clean and tidy. People were cared for, or supported by, suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff.
The provider had an appropriate system in place for gathering, recording and evaluating information about the quality and safety of care the service provided. People who used the service were asked for their views about their care and treatment.
