During a routine inspection
We spoke with three people who were visiting the dentist on the day of our visit.
People told us they were 'very happy' with the service. One person told us they had used the service for over thirty years and had 'never had to complain.' People said that their dentist took time to explain different treatments available and involved them in making decisions about this. People told us that staff were 'kind and considerate' and respected their wishes and feelings.
We found that people had signed to indicate their understanding and agreement to their particular treatments and that consent for this had been obtained. We found that clinical assessments of people had been carried out as part of their consultation and dental planning examination. We also saw that relevant associated known risks to their health were assessed, to ensure they were kept safe from potential harm.
People told us that the practice was always 'kept spotlessly clean.' and that they saw staff wiping down surfaces and equipment. We found that risks of potential infection to people were safely managed and observed that the premises were neat and tidy.
We found that a range of systems for auditing the quality of the service provided were in place. We saw evidence of surveys of people's views that were used to help the provider to develop the service.
